Ghorepani Poon Hill is one of the favorite treks by the trekkers in Annapurna Region. The trek is easily accessible from Pokhara; after a 2 day hiking from Nayapul. The main highlight of the trek is a visit to Pun Hill; situated at 3210 meters above the sea level; from where you can enjoy a mesmerizing view of sunrise and spectacular mountain views such as Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Tukuche Peak, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Machhapuchhre and many more.
Another highlight of the trek is a visit to Magar community village in Ulleri and Gurung community village in Ghandruk. After a visit to Pun Hill, you will trek to Tadapani, Ghandruk and adjourn your trek in Birethanti and Nayapul making a clockwise trek.
On day of your arrival your local tour operator will pick you up from Tribhuwan International airport and drop you to Kathmandu Suite Home; a centrally located hotel in Kathmandu and stay overnight comfortably at the hotel.Next day in the morning after breakfast, you will drive to the airport and take half an hour; but exciting flight to Pokhara; meet your guide and drive to Nayapul (45 minute drive) and start your multi-days hiking through the gorge of Modi river. Your accommodation and meals are provided at locally owned guesthouses. You will walk for 5-6 hours (10 to 14 k.m) every day. The hiking involves with moderate to strenuous walk. After spending 1 night in Pokhara at the end of the trek, you will take a return flight to Kathmandu.
Kathmandu to Pokhara Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus. We will see good scenery of countryside while driving. We will arrive in the late afternoon at Pokhara around 2 pm. Pokhara is an enchanting Himalayan Valley of remarkable beauty. We can do boating in Phewa Lake overlooking the region of Annapurna Himalayan ranges.
Pokhara to Ghorepani After breakfast drive to Nayapul via hilly ridges of Lumle/kande and walk about 20 minutes to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail reaches Sudami. After lunch climb steadily up the side of the valley, reaching Hile at 1495m near by Tikhedhunga. From Tikhedhunga the trail crosses a stream (Bhurungdi Khola) on a suspension bridge to start the long steep climb to the large Magar village Ulleri at 2070m. Above the village where the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. There are magnificent rhododendron and oak forest. Lunch spot in Nangethanti. Thanti is a Nepali words meaning “rest house”. In the winter the trail can be covered with show. From Nangethanti about one hours walking to Ghorepani at 2848m. Arrive at the top of the Ghorepani pass and camp there.
